The Youth team from Association of Bhutanese in Australia (ABA) Sydney organised the second fundraising dinner on 20 August 2016. Like last year, the event was organized to raise fund for the education of those children who have lost their parents and were orphaned by the disastrous earthquake that took place in Nepal last year. The event was very successful due to the help and commitment from the Bhutanese community members, guests from partner organisations, and friends and well-wishers from outside the community. “I am thrilled to see the youth in our community taking such initiatives and organising events for worthy causes" the ABA President, Dr Naresh Parajuli remarked. The guests at the event could not stop themselves from praising the ABA Youth team and their commitment.
During the presentation, the youth discussed about the fund that was raised last year and how it has been utilised towards the education of 10 children in Nepal. The dance and songs from the volunteer performers of the ABA added spice on the dinner night. The fundraising team thanked all the helping hands and pledged to continue supporting those children by organising such events in future. The Youth team would like to welcome everyone to be a part of this ongoing event and raise more funds in future while having fun at the same time.
